Casa Luna is located in the beautiful 12th century medieval village of Virgoletta where you can experience the life of the local people in the piazza or the village borgo (street).
Virgoletta is just 35 minutes drive from Portovenere and the beautiful Ligurian coast and the Gulf of the Poets made famous by the English poets Byron and Shelley and the famous Cinque Terre, a Unesco world heritage site.
Visit the ancient spa town of Equi Terme, famous for its thermal baths and caves.
You can swim in the Olympic sized pool set in the woods in Villafranca ( 5 mins from house) or river bathing is popular in nearby Bagnone.
The Appenine mountains that surround Lunigiana are great for mountain drives and treking. We can organize ecorted walks with Franco, a qualified local guide. Lunigiana has more castles (160) than anywhere else in Italy. This is an historical landand offers attractions which date back to medieval times.
The local wine and cuisine can be sampled at many superb restaurants. Local specialities include wild boar and chesnuts and the nearby Ligurian coast offers superb sea food.
There are two ski resorts at Cerreto and Zum Zeri which are about 50 mins drive from Virgoletta.
